Reading Group: The Magic Circle

For this session we’ll be considering microscopic/telescopic vision, and their relationships to parts and wholes, distance and scale, edges and boundaries, revelation and concealment. Alongside a short excerpt of Robert Hooke’s 1665 Micrographia and Ray & Charles Eames’ 1977 Powers of Ten, I invite participants to bring a printed image that responds to the reading group’s themes to act as a starting point for informal discussion.

We will read Robert Hooke’s Observ. II. Of the Edge of a Razor, Ray & Charles Eames’ Powers of Ten.
